Job Title: Carpenter / Upholsterer

Location: Lagos

Role Description

• This is a full-time on-site role for a Carpenter and Upholstery professional located in Lagos,
• Nigeria.
• The Carpenter and Upholstery professional will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, such as cabinetry, joinery, upholstered furniture.
• Tasks also include cutting, sanding, and shaping wood, as well as adding padding and fabric to furniture.
• The role also involves measuring, cutting and sewing fabric to fit a variety of furniture styles and dimensions.
• The Upholster will also be responsible for repairing and restoring upholstered furniture and fixtures.
• The Carpenter and Upholstery professional will need to interpret blueprints and drawings, measure and mark cutting lines on materials, and advise on suitable types of wood for specific projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in carpentry and upholstery.
• Excellent knowledge of furniture parts and assembly, specialty finishes, and woodwork
• techniques.
• Experience with woodworking tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and sanders.
• Experience with auto upholstery or industrial sewing is a plus.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to carry, bend, and stand for long periods
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in vocational or trade carpentry or upholstery training is a plus
