Job Title: Case Management and Victims Support Assistant

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

General Functions

  • The TALKAM Human Rights Case Management and Victims Support Assistant will play a pivotal role in the documentation, analysis, and support services for reported human rights cases and incidents.
  • This role involves utilizing various channels such as the TALKAM App, TALKAM Hotline, Social Media, and other mediums to receive reports, refer cases to appropriate organizations and agencies, ensure rapid responses, and provide comprehensive support to victims of human trafficking, rape, gender-based violence, or other related human rights abuses.

Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Document and analyze reported human rights cases/incidents received through TALKAM channels. Determine the appropriate handling of each case through direct intervention, referral to law enforcement agencies, or other service providers.
  • Trauma-Informed Support: Provide trauma-informed case management services to victims of human trafficking, encompassing both sex and labor trafficking, irrespective of gender or age. Develop and implement individualized case management plans to address the unique needs of each victim.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate reported human rights cases and responses to assess effectiveness and impact. Document the outcomes and ensure comprehensive reporting (monthly, quarterly, and yearly). Maintain comprehensive records of all cases.
  • Privacy and Data Protection: Ensure the protection of privacy and data of victims and reporters in compliance with regulatory bodies and international standards on case management. Implement and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols.
  • Communication and Follow-up: Maintain regular communication and follow-up with past and present victims/survivors. Keep updated records of all beneficiaries, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their progress and needs.
  • Support Services: Devise safety plans, offer information and referrals, assist in the protective order process, and coordinate legal and health services. Manage all support services for victims, including court support, skill training, education, business support, and other relevant assistance.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in a relevant field
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor to meet with victims.
  • Sharp attention to detail with an ability to multitask.
  • A reliable and diligent worker.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in  Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports.
