Tunga connects African software developers directly to paid international software tasks. Unlike traditional freelancer marketplaces, Tunga is built as a social network. On the one hand, companies can create a following of developers and on the other hand developers can become friends and work collaboratively.

Job Summary

• We’re looking for a dynamic Communication Officer who will spearhead our content marketing efforts, setting the vision and strategy to amplify our brand, grow our client base, and strengthen our mission of creating meaningful opportunities for African developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen Tunga’s global brand positioning
• Advocate for African tech talent in global discussions on remote work & impact sourcing
• Measure, optimize, and refine content marketing strategies
• Develop marketing campaigns to attract top African talent & global tech clients
• Lead communications with our vibrant developer community
• Create success stories showcasing developers & clients

What You Will Be Doing

• Strengthen Tunga’s brand positioning to resonate with clients, developers, and partners globally. 
• Lead thought leadership efforts, positioning Tunga in discussions about remote work, impact sourcing, and global talent.
• Monitor, measure, and report on content marketing effectiveness, using data to refine strategies.
• Advocate for African tech talent by ensuring marketing efforts break down barriers for developers.
• Create content to drive the engagement of our developers with Tunga and effectively communicate Tunga policy within its online community.
• Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to attract global tech clients and top African talent. This will include creating content for our website, newsletters, thought leadership articles, and social media. 
• Develop and manage communication with our community of software developers through Slack groups, email campaigns, and virtual community events.
• Create and oversee content highlighting the journeys of developers and the success stories of clients.

Your Profile
We’re looking for a communication officer who is:

• Results-driven and adaptable, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Strong in strategic thinking, brand storytelling, and campaign execution.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.

What You Will Bring To The Table

• Experience in marketing and content roles, preferably within tech, SaaS, or talent-related industries.
• A data-driven mindset and proficiency in marketing analytics tools.
• Passion for social impact and understanding of concepts like Impact Sourcing.
• Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, including SEO, social media, and email marketing.
• Expertise in creating impactful content and managing thought leadership efforts.
