WOCHAD Initiative is a non-for-profit making community based organization working in Benue and Ebonyi States. The Organization which was registered with Cooperate Affairs Commission in 2007 is also registered with Federal, Benue and Ebonyi States Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. WOCHAD works directly with rural poor marginalized and disadvantaged Orphans, Disabled, The aged, Women especially young-mothers, widows, displaced person, the illiterate and young children in communities aimed at improving rural community livelihoods through the implementing development oriented programs including water, sanitation & Hygiene, improving sustainable agriculture, family economic employment, maternal health, child/orphan supports/education & scholarship, primary health care, sexuality and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS &TB, income generating activities, youth skilling programs, vocational training to enable employment creation, sustainable energy, human rights advocacy, food security, gender equality advocacy, young teen mother supports and institutional strengthening and development.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant

Location: Abakaliki, Ebonyi
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions at community and facility levels.
  • Assist in routine collection, verification, and entry of nutrition data (IYCF, growth monitoring, CMAM, micronutrient supplementation, referrals).
  • Support accurate tracking of nutrition indicators against project targets and workplans.
  • Maintain nutrition M&E databases, registers, and electronic data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, DHIS2).
  • Support baseline, midline, endline surveys, nutrition assessments, and rapid monitoring exercises.
  • Assist in implementing accountability and feedback mechanisms with caregivers and community structures.
  • Ensure proper filing and archiving of nutrition M&E documents in line with donor and organizational standards.
  • Participate in supportive supervision, field monitoring visits, and data quality assessments (DQAs) for nutrition activities.
  • Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and donor reports on nutrition outputs and outcomes.
  • Support documentation of success stories, case studies, and lessons learned from nutrition interventions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience with data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, DHIS2) is an added advantage.
  • Ability to collect, manage, and summarize nutrition data accurately.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork and work closely with community volunteers and health facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to data quality.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting M&E functions in nutrition, health, or MNCH projects.
  • Basic understanding of nutrition indicators, IYCF, CMAM, growth monitoring, and community nutrition programming.
