Intersex Nigeria (Center for Healthcare Development and Youth Empowerment) is an intersex-led and focused Non-Governmental Organization in Nigeria. We promote and advocate for the sexual reproductive health, self-determination, bodily autonomy, and overall human rights of intersex people in all diversity in Nigeria. Through community building, advocacy, evidence-based research, empowerment, educational and informational resources on intersex-related issues to the public, partners, stakeholders, and our community.

Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Lagos

Duration: 12 months (Renewable)
Role Overview
- We are seeking a Finance Assistant that will work closely with the Finance Officer and the Finance Manager, supporting the effective management of Intersex Nigeria's financial systems and operations.
- The role includes assisting with bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with donor and organizational policies.
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical financial practices in support of the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
- Record daily expenditures, receipts, and other financial activities in accounting systems.
- Prepare payment vouchers and ensure proper authorization before disbursement.
- Support monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking.
- Support the implementation of financial control systems to prevent misuse of funds. 10. Assist in updating finance policies and procedures as required.
- Assist with logistics and administrative duties related to finance operations.
- Liaise with program staff to ensure timely financial planning and reporting.
- Support staff members and partners in understanding financial procedures and requirements.
- Assist in preparing program and project-specific budgets.
- Support budget monitoring to ensure expenses align with approved budgets.
- Prepare financial reports for management and donors.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with donor regulations and Intersex Nigeria's policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a non- profit or development organization.
- Knowledge of donor compliance requirements and grant management is an asset. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Integrity, discretion, and commitment to Intersex Nigeria's values of inclusion and accountability.
- Ability to use Zoho software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Required Competencies:
- Sound understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and donor reporting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Team-oriented, proactive, and committed to ethical standards of financial accountability.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong numerical and data-entry accuracy.
Salary
N250,000 / Month (Net)
