The Association of African Podcasters and Voice Artists is a community-driven organization that seeks to discover, amplify, and celebrate African voice/audio creatives. There are currently two definitions of APVA; There is APVA as a community, i.e., The Association of African Podcasters and Voice Artists. It also means the African Podcasts and Voice Awards. Regardless of definition, our primary goals remain to discover, amplify, and celebrate the African voice.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Communications Manager

Job Description

• The Communications Officer will support APVA's external communications strategy, develop and distribute digital content, engage our growing social media platforms and audience and play a key role in advancing our mission across Africa.
• The ideal candidate would be creating content specific to the audio creative space
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
• Implement strategies to build on existing social media engagement through online events and digital campaigns.
• Produce monthly and quarterly social media calendars, analytics, and reports detailing the status of communications campaigns.
• Manage digital communications using productivity software, media & content management apps such as Canva, HootSuite, WordPress, MailChimp, Google WorkSpace, YouTube, etc.
• Podcast Hosting and Management experience.
• Write, edit, upload, and distribute digital content, including fliers, articles, newsletters, annual reports, interviews, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities.
• Develop visual content for all digital platforms (website, email, social media, etc) ensuring consistency with the organization’s brand and standards.
