Job Overview

• We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Compliance Officer with the responsibility of ensuring that the bank adheres to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. 
• This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and trust of our institution by preventing legal issues and ensuring that operations align with all relevant compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the bank’s operations to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Develop and implement compliance training programs for staff to ensure awareness of compliance requirements.
• Investigate and resolve any compliance violations or concerns.
• Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to mitigate potential risks.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during inspections and audits.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Ensure that all required regulatory filings and reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Advise management on regulatory changes and potential impacts on operations.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFE, CAMS) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
• Proven experience in CBN regulatory visits, risk-based examinations, and compliance reviews.
• Microfinance Certification (MCIB) is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Core Banking Applications (e.g., BankOne, Finacle, or Flexcube).
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, financial crime prevention, and anti-money laundering (AML) laws.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements to non-compliance staff.
