Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Introduction

  • we are recruiting a Construction Project Manager to lead the execution of a 25-floor residential high-rise development from inception to completion. The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing complex vertical construction projects, strong leadership abilities, and a solid understanding of cost, schedule, quality, and safety requirements within the Nigerian construction environment.
Project Planning & Execution:

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through commissioning and handover.
  • Develop project schedules, methodologies, and construction strategies aligned with design and operational requirements.

Budget & Cost Control:

  • Manage project budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  • Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor/subcontractor management.

Timeline & Progress Management:

  • Track progress against milestones using MS Project and other project control tools.
  • Implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Interface with developers, architects, structural and MEP consultants, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage documentation for permits, approvals, and statutory compliance.

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Direct and supervise site engineers, subcontractors, and specialist consultants.
  • Promote a high-performance culture through clear communication, coaching, and accountability.

Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce compliance with local building codes, project specifications, and global safety standards (including OSHA).
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

Risk Management:

  • Identify construction risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee change management processes and communicate impacts transparently.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction project delivery.
  • Proven experience in vertical construction, MEP coordination, structural systems, façade installation, and finishing works.
  • At least 5 years managing high-rise projects of 20+ floors (residential or commercial).

Certifications (Preferred):

  • PMP, PRINCE2, CCM, LEED, OSHA, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Project (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, procurement procedures, and statutory/regulatory approval frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage.
