Dangote Group Job Vacancy for a Group Health and Safety Manager

Dangote Industries Limited, DIL, one of Africa's largest and most diverse conglomerates, have retained Allen & York Ltd to manage the recruitment of a number of key Environmental Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) individuals. We are embarking on a campaign to recruit a dynamic team to roll out DIL's long term EHSS vision in line with international IFC standards.  All positions will be Head Office based in Lagos, Nigeria.  Working alongside the Director of EHSS the Group Health and Safety Manager will have a critical role in developing a Health and Safety culture within a multi sector international conglomerate.


Job Title:  Group Health and Safety Manager

• Guide the Group in the setting of H&S improvement targets and relevant H&S performance indicators (KPI) and monitor progress of BUs and sites in achieving targets.
• Develop, review and update Group H&S procedures and standards.
• Provide expertise to site management, enhancing awareness of H&S issues likely to have material risk to the business.
• Train and mentor company staff, particularly on H&S leadership, H&S risk assessment, H&S issues relevant to the business, regulatory requirements and H&S management techniques.

• Track record in influencing positive organizational change inside organisation.
• Development and implementation of Integrated Management Systems according to IFC Performance Standards, OHSAS18001 and ISO31000 international standards.
• Experience working in developing economies, ideally in Africa.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety and process safety issues related to one or more industry sectors relevant to Dangote Industries Limited.
