Job Title: Estimation Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Details

  • Develop and prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project specifications.
  • Analyze technical drawings, contracts, and tender documents to determine project requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns for project proposals. 
  • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals for tenders and contracts.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure accurate cost calculations.
  • Monitor market trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies in the industry.
  • Maintain an organized database of historical cost records for future reference.
  • Prepare cost reports and updates for senior management.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and post-project cost evaluations. 
  • Manage Estimations; after estimations have been created, estimation engineers edit and update the estimation database.
  • Estimation engineers will peer review the Estimate to Complete in the Monthly Cost Report.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical details.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations to determine cost-effectiveness and quality compliance.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible pricing and terms.
  • Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize cost and efficiency without compromising quality.
