Standard Bearers School was established at a time when the educational system in Nigeria was going through a difficult phase. While there seemed to be a proliferation of schools at the time, quality standards were fast diminishing. SBS opened its doors on January 7th, 1997 with a small group of committed teachers and a few pupils. The idea to establish SBS was borne out of the desire of the founder to create a school where academic and creative talents were given similar priorities.

SBS is a family school that offers holistic education to parents seeking a technology driven, 21st century education for their children. We are lifelong learners who belong to a community where all individuals are valued and supported on their journey to self- discovery.

Job Title: Head, Admissions and Marketing

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • Interested applicants must be able to develop and implement a growth and strategic business development plan that fosters attraction, conversion, and retention of students.
  • The applicant will be charged with the responsibility of leading the Admissions and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless conversion through setting relevant policy, procedures, quality standards, customer service standards, and ensuring their delivery to all prospective students are top-notch.
  • Ensure that Standard Bearers Schools has effective and well-organized outreach programmes with the internal and external local community which develops and builds on the school’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and regularly monitor marketing, retention, and admissions plan for the school that directs each phase of the internal and external marketing processes and that this plan is built on the school’s story and promises that are built on evidence.
  • Manage Marketing and Student Recruitment budget and ROI of marketing activities carried out
  • The preferred candidate must constantly ensure that he maintains an up-to-date evidence base of the needs and concerns of our internal and external stakeholders in relation to the growth and retention of students and that this is evidence is communicated promptly.
  • Contribute to the wider business through sharing best practice with the wider community and supporting business development opportunities
  • To ensure that your school’s key touch-points for parents, from awareness to signing and beyond, are based on parental needs and your school’s defined promises are properly designed, implemented, and monitored, and that each is evaluated for effectiveness.
  • Work with your team strategy to achieve the target growth and retention numbers in line with the school’s budget
  • Must be able to create an outreach program that widens the school’s network and positive relationships and reputation in and within the community.
  • To ensure that every member of staff in the school is aware of their role in attracting, converting, and retaining students and is actively and appropriately engaged in all three activities.

Qualification, Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
  • Experience in using digital and social media trends and tools to influence sales effectively.
  • Understands and is able to build strong customer advocacy and repeat client loyalty and retention.
  • Experience of high level networking to build creative and mutually beneficial relationships that positively impact strategic and tactical business development.
  • 7 years experience in a Sales / Marketing role with demonstrated success in growing and increasing sales in a competitive market.
  • Experience of having worked within a service delivery sector, the education sector is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven record of using data and research to support initiatives undertaken.
  • Ability to build, manage and motivate cross functional high performing teams.
  • Experience in monitoring competitor market activity.
