Adara Empowerment Foundation focuses on empowering women to actively contribute to the social-economic development of Africa by providing education and training support for women and youth; and supporting, promoting and documenting African arts and culture.

Investing in the economic empowerment of women is the core pillar of our work and we aim to reduce women’s vulnerabilities while boosting their skills and ability to participate in key economic sectors in Africa, including fashion, technology, energy, agriculture, and arts and culture. Since 2017 the Foundation has reached more than 14,000 beneficiaries through a combination of skills training, education promotion, health access and education, financial education, humanitarian relief initiatives and market access opportunities.

Job Title: Head of Programs and Operations

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Position Description

  • Adara Foundation seeks to fill the role of Head of Programs & Operations (HPO). The Head of Programs & Operations (HPO) will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the Foundation’s programs and operations.
  • They will manage all phases of program development and delivery, including program conceptualization, development of implementation frameworks, budgeting, program management, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, fundraising and proposal writing where applicable.
  • He/she will engage in research and analysis to collect information that contributes to the Foundation’s ability to make strategic and informed decisions about its programs and initiatives, and deliver relevant, responsive and quality programs in line with its mission.
  • The HPO will keep abreast of developments in all strands of the Foundation’s work in order to identify and respond to emerging opportunities. This position reports to the Founder.

Office Management Responsibilities:

  • Maintain administrative and financial systems and procedures to ensure effective management of the foundation
  • Develop operating plans and budgets to support programs of the Foundation
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report variance
  • Negotiate costs and timescales with vendors and other resource people
  • Facilitate timely payment of vendors
  • Develop and ensure adherence to safety protocols on Foundation facility
  • Supervise maintenance of Foundation website, social media and other electronic platforms
  • Manage all full-time and contractual personnel of the Foundation to meet agreed deliverables
  • Coordinate personnel activities to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Oversee proper maintenance of Foundation office and equipment
  • Ensure up to date financial records
  • Design and implement record keeping procedures, including paper and electronic filing systems and ensure systems are up to date
  • Ensure proper recording and filing of all Foundation correspondences and transactions
  • Ensure adequate provision of for office, production and other program supplies

Program Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, development and successful delivery of all Foundation programs and events
  • Oversee scheduled delivery of existing Foundation programs
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedule of Foundation activities, including production and access to market related events
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts in sectors relevant to the Foundation’s work, including but not limited to arts & culture, women development and financial sectors
  • Participate in fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor research and identification and donor meetings
  • Prepare activity, program and financial reports as required or directed
  • Ensure delivery of overall programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Foundation
  • Represent the Foundation at meetings as needed
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and other community entry activities of the Foundation
  • Lead participant identification and screening for programs and events
  • Develop database of prospective facilitators and resource people, and manage schedule of contracted resource people
  • Ensure programs and operations are managed within authorized budgets
  • Ensure proper maintenance of detailed database of clients, facilitators, agency partners and vendors
  • Other duties as assigned by Founder

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Three to five years experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Must be Microsoft office proficient.
