Job Title: Head, Technical Engineering

Location: Lagos

Scope

  • Technical Audit of Facilities in all managed properties to identify and close technical and manpower capacity gaps
  • Development and implementation of Technical Engineering standard operating procedure for all managed properties
  • Quality assurance of all facility management equipment and services
  • Develop and institute Health and Safety policy in all managed properties

Responsibilities

  • Performs audit of facilities in all managed properties to identify technical gaps, make recommendations to close gaps and implement action plan
  • Conduct regular risk assessment of all facilities and eradicate all identified risks
  • Develop and implement maintainance schedule for assigned properties
  • Manage technical team, vendors and contractors to ensure they deliver on repairs, renovations and maintenance contracts
  • Oversees and conducts regular training for all technical staff
  • Advise on technical manpower requirement and recommends competent technical staff as required in all properties
  • Manage and supervise all renovations and refurbishments activities on properties
  • Prepare reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for line manager and other relevant staff
  • Conduct proactive preventive checks on all facilities in order to avoid downtime
  • Institute health and safety culture in all managed properties through policy development and implementation and regular training of all technical staff
  • Review and advise on quotes sent in by Contractors. Conduct regular market survey to keep abreast of cost of technical equipment and parts

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a reputable higher Institution
  • Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience of mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs and installation of Generators, building wiring and other facility equipment
  • Problem-solving skill
  • Smart negotiation skills
  • Ability to make quick judgement and spontaneous decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage people and pressure
  • Technical knowledge of building services (Mechanical, Engineering, Plumbing)
  • Sound knowledge of equipment parts and functions
  • Sound knowledge of equipment market and rates of equipment parts
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with staff, vendors, contractors and clients
  • Well organised and have excellent spoken and written communication skills, as well as customer and client management skills.
