Messenger at the High Commission of India

The High Commission of India in Abuja, Nigeria, is the diplomatic mission of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, which deals with India’s relations with the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of Benin, and to the Economic Community of the West African States (ECOWAS). The High Commission of India is located at Plot 364, Cadastral Zone, Off Constitution Avenue, Central Business District, Abuja, Nigeria.

The High Commission of India plays a pivotal role in advancing the comprehensive partnership between India and Nigeria as well as Benin Republic, strengthening India’s political, trade & economic, cultural, people-to-people contacts, educational relations with them for mutual benefit. It renders various consular services and provides consular assistance to Indian nationals residing in Nigeria and Benin.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Messenger
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Profile

• Upkeep and maintenance of office; indoor/outdoor duties, Dak distribution, official work, any other work
• Willingness to work beyond regular office hours including weekend.

Qualification
Educational Qualification:

• The candidate should have a minimum qualification of Senior Secondary or Equivalent.
• Desired Qualification : English typing speed 35 per minute and knowledge of drafting official papers.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent English, both written and spoken.
• Certificates: Police Clearance Certificate and Health Certificate are mandatory for selection, which can be submitted at later stage.
• Age: 21-30 years as on 1 January 2025.
• Nationality & Eligibility: Nigerian National or person having long term employment visa/work permit for Nigeria can apply.
• Computer skills: Proficient in MS office, Excel and IT/computer administration including software and hardware skills.
• Experience: Candidates having prior experience in office work and maintenance of office records and file will be preferred.

Pay Scale

• Starting salary for this position is USD 465 per month in the pay scale ranging from USD 465-1135.
• Gross starting salary including Cost of Living Allowance for the post will be USD 697.50 per month.
• The remuneration package will include 21 working days of annual leave.
