The University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) was officially commissioned on the 23rd of July, 1983 by former President Aliyu Shehu Shagari, GCFR. The hospital is the largest tertiary health care institution in Nigeria with 1577 bed capacity Offering world class training, research and medical services.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts in the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital:

Consultants (CONMESS 5)
Specialties:

• Surgery
• Anaesthesia
• Oncology

Basic Qualification: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent in a relevant field
Postgraduate Qualification: Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Surgeons/Physicians (FWACS/FWACP)
Registration: Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and valid practicing license

Registrar (CONMESS 3)
Basic Qualification: MBBS/BDS
Registration: Full registration with MDCN and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year housemanship (internship) and one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or exemption/exclusion letter. Must be enrolled in or eligible for a residency training programme in a specialist field

Medical Officer (CONMESS 3)
Basic Qualification: MBBS from any recognised institution
Registration: Full registration with MDCN and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of housemanship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Dental Officer (CONMESS 3)
Basic Qualification: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
Registration: Full registration with MDCN and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of housemanship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Pharmacist (CONHESS 9)
Basic Qualification: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from any recognised institution
Registration: Registration with Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year internship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Physiotherapist (CONHESS 9)
Basic Qualification: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (BMR) in Physiotherapy
Registration: Registration with Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Registration) Board of Nigeria (MRTB) and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year internship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Radiographer (CONHESS 9)
Basic Qualification: B.Sc. in Radiography
Registration: Registration with Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year internship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Medical Laboratory Scientist (CONHESS 9)
Basic Qualification: B.Sc. or Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS)
Registration: Registration with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year internship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Senior Nursing Officer (CONHESS 9)
Basic Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.)
Registration: Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and valid practicing license
Experience: Completion of one-year internship and NYSC or exemption/exclusion letter

Nursing Officer I (CONHESS 8)
Basic Qualification: Registered Nursing Certificate (RN/RM) plus Post Basic Nursing qualification
Registration: Registration with NMCN and valid practicing license
