Job Title: Corporate Affairs Officer

Location: Lagos State

Job Description    

  • To maintain the media reputation of Sahara Group while ensuring that information that might negatively impact on business operations are kept at the minimum by acting as the media liaison for the Group on all related issues.
  • Transform the organization by instilling core brand values, protect corporate identity, and develop cogent and consistent messaging that enhances understanding across internal and external audiences.
Qualification / Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • A diplomatic but persuasive attitude when dealing with colleagues
  • A team player with an international outlook and an ability to communicate effectively across boundaries
  • Sound planning skills, numeracy and a precise orderly method of working.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Possess the requisite leadership & entrepreneurial skills to help achieve short, mid and long term goals of the Sahara group
  • Poise to interact effectively with all stakeholders

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop communication objectives and communication plans
  • Check the media for issues that affect the organization
  • Write and produce publications such as internal newsletters, leaflets and annual reports
  • Assist in planning and organizing social events that meet up to company standards.
  • Support day to day running of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department.
  • Provide information to the media when need arises.
  • Liaise with IT in the maintenance and update of the organization’s website.
  • Write news releases, speeches and articles
  • Edit documents and arrange for their publication
  • Maintain up to date information using company intranet facilities.
  • Assist in organizing promotional events and conferences
  • Assist in organizing and conducting press conferences.
