Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) is Nigeria's leading private sector think-tank dedicated to achieving sustainable economic development through private sector-led initiatives. Convener of the annual Nigerian Economic Summit (NES) since 1993, as a platform for bringing together private sector leaders and senior public sector officials to discuss and dialogue on the future of the Nigerian economy.

In 1993, a group of passionate and concerned private sector leaders representing key economic sectors conceived the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES) and sustained it as a platform for bringing together private sector leaders and senior public sector officials to discuss and dialogue on the future of the Nigerian Economy. Three years later, in 1996, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) was established and incorporated as a non-profit, non-partisan private sector organisation with a mandate to promote and champion the reform of the Nigerian economy into an open, private sector-led globally competitive economy.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Senior Fellow (Law)

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality legal and policy research aligned with the Centre's research priorities.
  • Lead or co-lead the development of selected policy papers, research reports, briefs, and commentary for publication by the Centre.
  • Offer mentorship and academic guidance to mid-level researchers engaged in specific research assignments.
  • Participate, as required, in research-related convenings, seminars, and knowledge-sharing activities organised by the Centre.
  • Contribute to strengthening the Centre's visibility and credibility within academic and policy communities.
  • Provide technical and scholarly input into ongoing research projects undertaken by the Centre.
  • Support internal peer review processes to ensure analytical rigour, coherence, and academic quality of research outputs.

Reporting & Working Relationships:

  • The Research Fellow will work closely with the Centre's research team in delivering agreed research outputs.
  • Engagement will be project-based and aligned with timelines and priorities determined by the Centre.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professor of Law/Associate Professor of Law/Doctor of Laws or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Demonstrated record of academic research, policy-relevant publications, and thought leadership in law and governance-related fields.
  • Experience producing research that informs public policy, legislative reform, or institutional development.
