We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Procurement Manager

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Business Head – Sheanut and Rubber

Job Purpose

• The Procurement Manager will be responsible for kickstarting, managing, and growing the Sheanut business in Nigeria.
• This role involves end-to-end ownership of sourcing, procurement, logistics, shipping and local trading.
• The role requires strong product and geography understanding, supplier relationship management, operational oversight, and commercial acumen.
• The incumbent should be prepared to actively explore taking on additional products which have synergy with Shenauts.

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Procurement:

• Lead sourcing of Sheanut from West Africa with a focus on Nigeria.
• Set up upcountry sourcing branches with close oversight.
• Build and maintain strong supplier networks, agents, and partnerships.
• Ensure procurement aligns with quality standards, price competitiveness, and processing requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and manage procurement risks effectively.

Trading & Market Management:

• Oversee physical local trading activities and manage procurement-to-shipping cycles.
• Work closely with trading teams to manage inventory, logistics, and contract execution.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management:

• Build strong relationships with suppliers, service providers, customers, and other partners.
• Work closely with country leadership and functional leadership to ensure full compliance.
• Maintain effective communication with product teams based in West Africa to drive overall West Africa strategy.

Business Strategy & P&L Ownership:

• Play entrepreneurial role in setting up Sheanut business from scratch in Nigeria.
• Develop and execute annual business plans, forecasts, and budgets for Sheanut.
• Additional responsibility to evaluate and start raw rubber procurement in Nigeria and other products with synergies.

Operations and Quality:

• Ensure timely shipments and delivery to local and overseas buyers.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements.
• Ensure proper tracking of procured quality and optimise cost with effective moisture management to derive incremental value.

Logistics & Supply Chain:

• Oversee end-to-end logistics from origin to destination markets.
• Collaborate with shipping, warehousing, documentation, and clearing teams.
• Ensure compliance with regional regulations and trade norms.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor sourcing, procurement, trading, and operations teams with local talent.
• Drive a culture of performance, ownership, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Agriculture, Business Management, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• 5–10+ years of experience in Sheanuts in West Africa – Preferably Nigeria.
• Proven track record in origination of Agri products from West Africa.
