Job Title: Business Consultant - Africa
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for creating and
leading strategies for Tampico’s business in Africa, with a focus on
accelerating volume growth and share through creation and implementation
of sales and marketing initiatives. Directly manages relationships
with Board of Directors, CEOs, General Managers and Brand Managers of
Tampico partners operating in the assigned region. This position will
report to the VP. of International Sales. The ideal candidate will be
hired as an exclusive Service Consultant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- •Manage relationships with key licensees and key accounts.
- •Create key performance indicators, while tracking and focusing on
value drivers (distribution, displays, flavors, and package
development).
- •Implement standardized developmental plans and accountabilities
for Brand Managers resulting in stronger performance and better coaching
of licensee’s sales force.
- •Collaborate with internal legal departments to ensure accurate and timely contract negotiations.
- •Identify potential licensees/bottlers to cover the assigned region
according to their route to market. Champion the opening of new markets
in the region.
- •Negotiate strategic partnerships with national and multinational
licensees including the establishment of annual performance criteria,
volume, pricing, and marketing support.
- •Implement strategic planning framework, including volume, investment forecasting and marketing activities to execute priorities
- Manage Sales promotion and Marketing budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- •5-10 years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry, Direct
Store Delivery (DSD), and International Sales/International Marketing
management in African markets
- •Bachelor’s Degree – required
- •Financial and analytical abilities
- •Results oriented, attention to detail; strategic thinker
- •Honest and ethical; team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- •Ability to travel to all countries within the region at least 50% of the time
- •Must currently reside in a country in the assigned region (for example: Nigeria or Cameroon)

- •Written and verbal fluency in English and French - required
- •Fluency in Swahili – preferred
- •Broad understanding and ability to interpret syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, CCR)
- •Advanced level in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
