Job Title: Tractor Operator

Location: Ogere, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Driving and regularly maintaining and repairing tractors and other farm implements.
• Must be able to apply good safety practices.
• Performing inspections of tractors and attachments like graders, rollers, and plows, and ensuring they are well-lubricated.
• Using tractors to transport materials and pull or push agricultural equipment.
• Operating tractors with laser leveling equipment to prepare fields.
• Reporting any faults or concerns to the Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
• Remaining alert while driving and servicing the tractor, and maintaining the appropriate speed limit at all times.
• Harvest vegetables by hand or machinery.
• Apply pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to crops.
• Inform the Farm Supervisor on the progress of crops.
• Operate farm equipment to spray pesticides on weeds along the roadside and perimeter of fields to keep weeds down.
• Must be able to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, under extreme weather conditions.
• Completing minor repairs on tractor and farm equipment.
• Perform routine engine maintenance and record keeping of all equipment repairs.
• Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
• Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery.
• Hook tow trucks to trailer hitches and fasten attachments, such as graders, plows, rollers, and winch cables to tractors and other farm implements.
• Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using equipment.
• Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
