United Geophysical (Nigeria) Limited is Nigeria's oldest oil service company having began operations in the western Niger Delta in the early 1960’s and incorporated as a limited liability company in 1971. The company has over 50 years of continuous operations specialising in land and swamp 2D, 3D and 4D seismic data acquisition and has conducted seismic surveys for all the major oil companies operating in Nigeria. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Management Accountant Location: Lagos Job Description The responsibilities of the Management Accountant encompass the preparation of the monthly management accounts and the maintenance of complete accounts records. Duties include but are limited to the following:

• Preparation of monthly UGNL and staff payrolls and payroll tax schedules;
• Back-up of Sage accounts data on a daily basis and the accounts server on a monthly basis.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts to include Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account and all relevant reconciliations;
• Preparation of annual accounts; managing the external audit of the annual accounts;
• Management of field and Company accounting systems and crew financial and accounting requirements;

Reports:

• Monthly Management Accounts by the 7th of every month to include:
  • Fixed Assets;
  • Cash-in-transit;
  • Tarde Creditors;
  • Accruals;
  • Stock and Inventory;
  • Trade and Debtors;
  • Client Reimbursables;
  • Prepayments;
  • Taxation Recoverable;
  • Employee Receivables;
  • Other Debtors;
  • Cash at Bank and in Hand;
  • Taxation and Payroll Creditors (Company Taxation, Value-Added Tax, Pension and Payroll Taxes, State Taxation; Union Dues)
  • Inter-company Account;
  • Other Creditors;
  • Income;
  • Expenses.
• Monthly head count by the 7th of every month;
• Draft annual audited accounts by 28th February each year;
• Preparation of UGNL staff payrolls by the 2nd of every month;
• Back-up of the Sage accounts data daily and the accounts server weekly.
