Empowerment and Enlightenment Campaign (WEEC) is organising a creative
essay competition for young girls this month, August.
The online
competition targeted at females between 18 through 25 years in Lagos,
began on August 10 and will run till 31.
Theme for the essay competition is ‘How can men contribute to women’s
development in our society?’ The aim is to help young female writers
express their thoughts, creative perspectives, social development plans,
solution for gender equality and a new cultural value system.
The
organisers want writers to share their most important and relevant
position that can change the status of women.
How to Participate
To enter the competition, contestants have to send a non-fiction
essay not more than 500 hundred words to [email protected] and
stand a chance to win exciting prizes like mobile devices, laptops,
scholarship, grants and start-up capital for entrepreneurs.
The editors
will select 50 out of the first 1000 entries submitted by August 31 and
results will be announced on select news portals based on novelty,
creativeness, writing style and the relevance to theme of the essay
entries.
