Paediatric Physical Therapist Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Paediatric Physical Therapist:

  • A Doctorate of Physical Therapy, specializing in Paediatric Physical Therapy.
  • Experience in a supervised internship may be advantageous.
  • A license to practice Pediatric Physical Therapy.
  • Attention to detail, patience, and empathy.
  • Manual dexterity and physical endurance to lift patients and heavy equipment.
  • The ability to work long hours as well as some evening and weekend shifts.
  • The ability to handle stress and pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
