The Ondo state public service training institute is a management development institute established by the Ondo State government for the training of middle and senior level manpower within and outside the Ondo state public service

The following Job Vacancies are available:
1. DIRECTOR GENERAL

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The DG is the CEO of the institute and responsible for the daily administration of the Institute
- interpret and implement the corporate vision of the institute and put in place administrative, technical and professional mechanisms for the achievement of the goals and objectives for the establishment of the institute
- And also be the accounting officer of the institute and have responsibility for granting approvals for all expenditures as spelt out in the procurement guideline for the institute
- direct curriculum and content development, guide course administration and supervise the operations of the Bursary department
- ensure that the registry and institute library are fully functional and capable of supporting first class scholarly activities

REQUIREMENTS
- at least a master’s degree in humanities, social sciences or any development related courses from a recognized institution
- a dual first degree certificate in relevant courses at graduating grade of not less than second class lower shall also be considered while the possession of PHD will be added advantage
- Not more than 50 years of age
- At least 12 years post qualification cognate experience
- must have exhibited degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrate integrity, managerial ability and passion for leadership development in similar organization
- Excellent communication skills with working knowledge of other languages, especially French will be added advantage
- ability to prepare and submit vision statement in not more than 1000 words for the efficient take off of the institute and for raising its profile to national and continental consciousness within the next 5 years
- must have good health with ability to endure the rigors of the duties of DG
- Ability to develop linkages with other management development institutes locally and globally towards the development of the institute as a regional hub for capacity enhancement of managers in the public and the private sectors

CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF SERVICE
- The DG is a principal officer of the Institute and shall be placed on the same salary scale as a permanent secretary in the state civil service
- shall hold office for an initial tenured term of 4 years
- shall be entitled to one official car and other benefit applicable to a permanent secretary in the state civil service

2. LIBRARIAN

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Librarian is a principal officer and is responsible to the DG or the daily administration of the institute’s library
- plan, organize and coordinate the operations of the library services in consultation with the DG and ensure that the library is stocked with adequate research materials, periodicals and other relevant materials that could promote learning and research

REQUIREMENTS
- A good honors degree in librarianship not below second class lower division from a recognized institution
- Possession of master’s degree in librarianship or any other relevant course will be added advantage
- At least 10 years post qualification cognate experience
- Not more than 45 years of age
- ability to prepare and submit vision statement in not more than 500 words for institute’s library and for establishing global host practices in library services within the next 5 years
- Excellent writing skills
- ability to establish and run an ICT-based registry so as to eliminate material and time wasting and thus promote overall efficiency


CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF SERVICE
- The successful candidate shall be placed on equivalent grade civil service salary GL 17
- shall hold office for an initial tenured term of 4 years
- shall be entitled to one official car and appropriate housing allowance
- Other relevant benefits shall be determined at the point of recruitment and as approved by the governing council
  3. BURSAR

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The bursar is the principal officer and the chief finance office of the government institute and responsible for the DG daily administration and control of the financial affairs of the institute
- plan, organize and coordinate the operations of the bursary department in consultation with the DG
- ensure all accounts of the institute are adequately kept and expenditure undertaken with the approval of the DG
- a good honors degree in accountancy or finance not below second class lower from a recognized university with appropriate university level relevant qualification shall be considered
- ACCA, ACA, ANAN, ICAN or other equivalent professional accountancy qualification
- Not more than 45 years of age
- At least 10 years post qualification cognate experience
- Ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the institute
- Ability to prepare and submit vision statement in not more than 500 words for funds generation and management towards making the institute self-sufficient within the next 5 years 
- Possession of master’s degree will be added advantage
- must have exhibited degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrate integrity, managerial ability and transparency on matters of finance resource management
- ability to establish and run an ICT-based registry so as to eliminate material and time wasting and thus promote overall efficiency

CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF SERVICE

4. REGISTRAR

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The registrar is a principal officer and chief administrative officer of the institute and responsible to the DG for the daily general administration of the Institute
- plan, organize and coordinate the operations of the registry and ensure that all personnel matters, facility management and stores are professionally dealt with within the operational and management charter of the institute
- Responsible for the processing of all routine procurement in line with the procurement guideline of the institute

REQUIREMENTS
- At least a good degree in humanities, social sciences or any development related courses from a recognized institution
- possession of master’s degree in public administration, business administration, personnel, psychology or any relevant course will be added advantage
- Not more than 45 years of age
- At least 10 years post qualification cognate experience
- must have exhibited degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrate integrity, managerial ability and transparency on matters of personnel and facilities management
- must have good health with ability to endure the rigors of the duties of the registrar
- ability to prepare and submit vision statement in not more than 1000 words for the efficient take off of the institute’s registry and for establishing global best practices in record keeping and registry management within the next 5 years
- Ability to develop linkages with other management development institutes locally and globally towards the development of the institute as a regional hub for capacity enhancement of managers in the public and the private sectors
