Cosmetologist Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Cosmetologist:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Previous working experience as a cosmetologist for (x) years
  • Cosmetology certification is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of cosmetology
  • Interest and knowledge of current fashion and beauty trends
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good physical stamina, eye and hand coordination
  • Good time-management skills
