Ergonomist Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of an Ergonomist:

  • A bachelor's degree in ergonomics, engineering, computer science, psychology, biology, physiology, or anthropology or related field of study.
  • Candidates need to possess good numerical, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts,
  • A systematic approach to work and an interest in human behaviour can be helpful.

Note that this is not an exhaustive list of Ergonomist skill, qualifications and experience. Job requirements for specific Ergonomist roles may vary, depending on the industry and type of employer.
