Account Manager at Mosra Energy Limited Nigeria (MEL)

Mosra Energy Limited Nigeria (MEL) is a well-established coal mining company with over 15 years experience in the industry. We are operating coal mines in Kogi and Delta States. In addition to our current operations, we have several other coal blocks under exploration in Nsukka/Udenu, Enugu State, Dekina LGA, Kogi State, and Ogbadibo LGA, Benue State.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Nigeria
Reports to: Finance Director

Objective

• Provide financial leadership and oversight in internal financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, and the month-end close to ensure accurate financial records and compliance.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial documentation to support business decisions and stakeholder communications.
• Oversee cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of expenditures related to regulatory compliance, environmental permits, safety investments, and community engagement initiatives.
• Ensure legal compliance, prepare financial statements, and manage tax obligations, maintaining high standards of financial governance and risk management.
• Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis, providing insights to support business decisions.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, developing their skills and expertise to drive team performance and business outcomes
• Manage cost accounting for mining operations, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting
• Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of financial governance and risk management.
• Support investor reporting and stakeholder communications, providing timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, records, and transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; ICAN/ACCA required with 5+ years accounting experience; mining sector a plus
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
