Job Title: Architect / Technical Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a qualified Architect to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria, and ensure standardization and compliance of developers’ designs and drawings with the planning and construction regulations of EACML.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide comprehensive technical oversight for all architectural projects and operations within Eko Atlantic City.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between technical and non-technical departments.

Procedural Implementation:

  • Assist in the establishment and enforce standardized technical procedures across the technical departments.
  • Assist in developing and update technical guidelines, manuals, and protocols to improve workflow efficiency and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • No designs - primarily critic, coordination and compliance implementation
  • Analyse building projects from point of view of compliance with codes, coordination of MEP systems, coordination with structural elements.
  • Organise coordination meetings with various trades and improve project deliverables

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead the architectural and technical teams, including architects, engineers, technicians, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging professional growth and teamwork.

Permit Compliance:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to secure necessary building permits and approvals.
  • Monitor and track the status of permits, addressing any issues that may arise during the approval process

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare regular reports on the status of architectural projects and compliance efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to architectural designs, permits, and regulatory approvals.

Review of Architectural Design Drawings:

  • Thoroughly assess developers’ architectural design drawings and plans to ensure compliance with EACML planning and building regulations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to architects and design teams to align projects with the city's overall vision and standards

Documentation Submission for Building Permits:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required architectural documentation for building permits at different stages of development.
  • Ensure that all submissions are accurate, complete, and submitted within designated timelines to expedite the permit approval process.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. A Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (15 years) in architectural design and technical/ Project management, preferably with experience in large-scale projects or urban development.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in architectural software and tools for design, and project management.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Project management experience, with a track record of successful project delivery on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, construction practices, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols in architectural projects and urban planning.
