Job Title: Buyer-Expediter

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete procurement process with the procurement team
• Liaison with commodity managers on purchasing requirements
• Prepare requisitions descriptions of items required and ensure purchase requisitions are
• properly authorized
• Solicit competitive quotations, prices, or tenders for technical or complex purchasing requirements
• Responsible for the preparation of procurement documents which includes but not limited to RFQ preparation, bid clarifications, commercial bid evaluation and purchase requisition and if applicable prepare the purchase order on client’s behalf.
• Prepare supporting documents i.e., sole source documents, request of approval, etc.
• Negotiate claims with suppliers
• Compare prices received and approving or recommending placement of orders
• Analyze and evaluate technical or complex proposals and selecting best vendor to supply items meeting all requirements
• Interview sales and manufacturing representatives to obtain information on commodities and prices

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Sc / HND qualification in Supply Chain and Logistics, Management and Engineering courses.
• Attention to detail
• Math and analytical skills
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software, inventory management tools and accounting applications
• Excellent time management skills.
• 1-3 years working experience as a buyer-expediter in distribution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Teamwork skills
