Job Description

• Ashipa Electric is expanding its portfolio of renewable energy projects, and we are looking for a Civil & Mechanical Engineer to support the design, construction, and maintenance of our solar and mini-grid infrastructure.
• This role will primarily focus on civil engineering (site development, structural works, foundations, and infrastructure) while also covering mechanical engineering aspects related to system integration, solar mounting structures, and thermal management.
• The ideal candidate is a civil engineer with hands-on experience in construction and infrastructure projects, but with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, especially as they apply to renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
Civil Engineering (70%)

• Design and supervise the construction of foundations, access roads, and support structures for solar PV and mini-grid projects.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Manage and coordinate contractors and construction teams to maintain quality control and project timelines.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, and documentation for regulatory approvals.
• Conduct site assessments, geotechnical studies, and feasibility analyses to determine the best structural approach.
• Oversee site preparation, drainage planning, and land development for energy infrastructure.

Mechanical Engineering (30%)

• Provide technical input on solar PV mounting structures and mechanical system design.
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical components in mini-grid systems.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure the seamless integration of all mechanical and civil aspects of the project.
• Conduct mechanical load analyses to ensure system stability and performance.
• Work on thermal management solutions for energy storage and solar installations.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural design, geotechnical engineering, and construction management.
• Hands-on experience with solar PV, battery storage, or energy infrastructure is an advantage.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, and basic understanding of mechanical
• design software (SolidWorks, HVAC systems, or fluid dynamics).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, project management abilities, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
