Job Title: Sustainability Associate, West Africa

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Description

  • Support the development and implementation of Deloitte’s Public Policy, World Class and World Climate strategies in West Africa.
  • Coordinate with World Class leaders across West Africa and act as West Africa’s representative in the Africa World Class Community of Practice.
  • Support World Climate initiatives to assist with Deloitte’s target to net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
  • Drive annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting to ensure accuracy, tracking staff hours spent on community service and social impact, and recommend changes to enhance impact.
  • Collaborate with operations team to facilitate annual sustainability reporting for Africa Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Develop reports for World Class Community of Practice as appropriate.
  • Provide inputs towards the World Class budget on an annual basis.
  • Grow awareness across the Firm about World Class through sharing stories of impact, and lead the delivery of social impact communications across the West Africa region, both internally and externally.
  • Help coordinate social impact and volunteerism activities with Deloitte staff and provide necessary support to external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Eng./B. Tech., etc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower/Lower Credit division.
  • Minimum of five credits in WASSCE/GCE/NECO Ordinary Level (including Mathematics and English) in one sitting.
  • 4-6 years post-NYSC relevant work experience.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent mentorship and coaching ability with desire to develop self and others.
  • Strong emotional intelligence.
  • Strong client delivery focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working with senior executives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in the social sector or social impact projects (volunteer experience is acceptable).
  • Working knowledge of design thinking is a significant added advantage.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and professional services environment is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work collaboratively and independently; and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
