Commodity Trading Manager at Sonia Foods Industires Limited

Sonia Foods is currently one of the leading players in the processed tomato industry in Nigeria, with significant industrial processing infrastructure investments at its State-of-Art Factory located in the Shagamu industrial belt. They are currently in an expansion phase not just in processed tomato, but also in various other categories. The Agricultural division of Sonia Group, Sonia Farms, is currently in the process of setting up farming and processing operations in Jigawa State in Northern Nigeria.

Apart from tomato, the proposal is to also grow and process cash crops like Sesame and Hibiscus. Allied to this project, we are looking for a candidates to manage exports of not just our own farm products, but also buy and trade.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Commodity Trading Manager

Location: Kano

Key Responsibilities

• Developing a team, process and infrastructure for commodity exports
• Developing a trading strategy, getting a sign off from the directors and execution
• Timeline: Immediate

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree
• Experience in typical Nigerian origin commodities like Sesame, Hibiscus, Ginger, Turmeric, Soya Beans, etc.,
• Knowledge of international customers who can be potential buyers
• Minimum 5-10 years of core sourcing and exporting experience in Nigeria.
• Experience in sourcing in North Nigeria.

Remuneration
Negotiable for the right candidate
