Job Title: Costing Officer

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Mode: Onsite

Role Summary

  • We are seeking a costing officer that will be responsible for determining product costs, analyzing pricing strategies, and evaluating profitability of various business opportunities.
  • This role will provide critical support to our pricing decisions, tender proposals, and product profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously review and update the Emzor Bill of Materials (BOM) based on amendments from production sites, and provide timely reports of all changes to the Costing Manager.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of completed work orders on Oracle to confirm full material issuance and identify any over- or under-issuance for corrective action.
  • Evaluate Institutional, NGO, and public-private partnership tender proposals to determine profitability and viability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely costing information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of costing principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with the designated point persons at each production site to address incomplete or incorrect material issuance before any work order is closed.
  • Determine actual costs for products to inform pricing decisions.
  • Evaluate and analyze promotions, discounts, and incentive plans to assess their impact on profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in costing or pricing analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
  • Student Membership or Member of relevant Professional bodies (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA) will be an added advantage.

  • Proficient in cost accounting, product costing, financial modelling, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and people-leadership skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel/Word with strong ethical conduct, confidentiality, and resource management
