Media Health and Rights Initiative of Nigeria (MHR)  is a youth-led nonprofit organization working at the intersection of digital innovation, gender justice, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). We create content that informs, empowers, and drives social change, especially for young people, women, and marginalized communities.

Job Title: Content Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• This is a full-time hybrid role as a Content Officer at Media Health and Rights Initiative of Nigeria (MHR).
• The Content Officer will be responsible for managing the social media content across platforms and communications.
• This role is based in Abuja but allows for some remote work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of content strategy across all Love Matters Naija platforms
• Maintain consistent tone, voice, and accuracy across projects
• Monitor trends and audience engagement to optimize content delivery.
• Write and edit articles and digital content
• Collaborate with content contributors, graphic designers, video editors, and program teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, or related fields
• Communication and Writing skills
• Web Content Writing and Content Management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects
• Experience in content creation and management
• Strong understanding of media ethics
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of health and rights issues in Nigeria.
• Social Media Marketing skills
• Strong writing and editorial skills
• Experience producing SRHR, gender, or health-focused content
• Familiarity with youth-led communications and digital advocacy

Bonus

• SEO and social media content experience.
