Graduate Intern at One Acre Fund

One Acre Fund is a nonprofit organization that supplies smallholder farmers in East Africa with asset-based financing and agriculture training services to reduce hunger and poverty. Headquartered in Bungoma, Kenya, the organization works with farmers in rural villages throughout Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and recently Malawi. Using a market-based approach, One Acre Fund facilitates activities and transactions at various levels of the farming value chain, including seed sourcing and market support. In 2013, farmers who worked with One Acre Fund realized a 180% return on their investment and significantly increased farm income on every planted acre.

Internship Details

• We are looking to place a cohort of paid interns for a four-month period. Interns will work on impactful projects, receive mentorship from organizational leaders and provide support to One Acre Fund's operations.
• Interns will be given substantial work assignments and asked to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Interns are valued members of the One Acre Fund family and we are looking for the best of the best. We ask all staff to take a “Farmers First” attitude and approach their work with humility. Specific projects may change with the needs of the organisation.
• Based on performance, interns who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to transition into full time roles within the organisation.

Eligibility Requirements
For this cohort, we will require the following:

• Strong quantitative background [Minimum of an Undergraduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related course]
• Top grades [First Class / Second Class Upper degrees for Bachelors, Distinction or Upper Credit for HND]
• Internship will be based in Minna. Candidates should be willing to reside in Minna, Niger State.
