Caring Habitat is a 40-room purpose-built inpatient skilled nursing and rehabilitation hospital designed to complement the health outcomes of patients through the delivery robust rehabilitation program.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Inventory Officer

Location: Abraham Adesanya, Lekki, Ajah - Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Inventory Officer is responsible for managing medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, therapeutic equipment, and non-perishable food/linens, ensuring patient care is uninterrupted, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant setting for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensuring the complete lifecycle of clinical and non-clinical supplies within the rehabilitation center as well as the continuous, safe, and cost-effective availability of all necessary supplies to support patient recovery and daily operations.

Job Description
Clinical Inventory Control:

  • Medical & Equipment Stocking: Oversee inventory levels for rehabilitation equipment (e.g., bands, weights, braces), medical consumables (e.g., wound care kits, gloves, syringes), and diagnostic supplies.
  • Emergency Stock: Ensure critical emergency medical stock and essential supplies are always available and compliant with regulatory standards.

Receiving, Storage, and Distribution:

  • Receiving & Inspection: Accurately receive all incoming supplies (including delivered meals/perishables if part of the role's scope) and verify them against purchase orders for quantity, quality, and damage.
  • Storage Compliance: Ensure all items are stored correctly, meeting hygiene standards and manufacturer specifications (e.g., temperature control for certain medications or supplies).
  • Distribution: Manage the timely and accurate distribution of supplies to various units, including therapy rooms, patient rooms, and the kitchen/laundry areas.

Vendor Management and Procurement Support:

  • Liaison: Act as the primary inventory contact for suppliers and vendors.
  • Ordering: Assist the Procurement team by identifying low stock items and generating replenishment orders based on established inventory levels.

Audits, Reporting, and Compliance:

  • Cycle Counting: Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories to reconcile stock against the inventory management system.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, reporting losses or major variances immediately.
  • Cost Control: Track usage rates and identify opportunities for reducing waste and minimizing carrying costs, while maintaining appropriate par levels for critical items.

Qualifications Required

  • BSC/HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years professional experience in Inventory Management.
