Job Summary

• Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee and manage all legal aspects of their mining operations.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
• The Legal Manager will play a critical role in ensuring our operations align with local and international laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Legal Compliance:

• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the mining industry.
• Ensure the company's activities comply with all applicable legal requirements.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risk.

Contract Negotiation:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure contracts align with business objectives.

Regulatory Affairs:

• Interface with government agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
• Monitor changes in regulations and proactively advise on potential impacts.

Dispute Resolution:

• Handle legal disputes and litigation matters effectively.
• Work with external legal counsel when necessary.

Corporate Governance:

• Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles.
• Assist in the preparation of board and shareholder meeting materials.

Risk Management:

• Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities.
• Implement strategies to mitigate legal and compliance risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law; additional qualifications in Mining Law or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years Proven experience as a Legal Manager or in a similar role within the mining industry.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of mining laws, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Remuneration
N400,000 Salary Monthly.
