We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Maintenance, Mechanical Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, including rotating and static equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance engineers to plan and execute maintenance work during plant shutdowns or turnarounds.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of material handling equipment (cranes, hoists) and support structures (foundations, platforms).
  • Provide technical support in the installation, commissioning, and modification of new mechanical equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Monitor the performance of mechanical systems and recommend modifications or upgrades to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in risk assessments, ensuring all mechanical equipment are maintained in compliance with HSE standards.

Qualification, Skills and Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance engineering in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong HSE awareness and ability to implement safety protocols in maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, turbines) and static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers).
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
