Job Title: Plant Operations and Mechanical Reliability Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • Aren Paper Mills is seeking a Plant Operations & Mechanical Reliability Engineer to ensure the continuous, reliable operation of all rotating and mechanical systems across the factory.
  • This role is focused on keeping equipment running, preventing breakdowns, and implementing practical, lasting mechanical solutions in a demanding production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure maximum uptime of all rotating equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, rollers, and conveyors
  • Improve equipment alignment, lubrication practices, and installation standards
  • Work closely with production teams to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement of mechanical reliability across the plant.
  • Diagnose and eliminate recurring mechanical failures (bearing failures, misalignment, vibration, seal leakage, overheating)
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance for critical assets

Required Profile

  • Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on factory experience
  • Comfortable working in a developing manufacturing environment
  • Results-driven, resilient, and Accountable.
  • Proven ability to keep rotary equipment running under pressure
  • Practical knowledge of bearings, shafts, couplings, pumps, motors, and vibration issues

  • Longer equipment run times
  • Stable production with minimal unplanned stops
  • Mechanical problems fixed at the root, not repeatedly patched.

Salary
N400,000 - N700,000 monthly.
