Our services include but not limited to, Maritime Logistics Services, provision and deployment of specialized vessels in the offshore environment, Maritime risk Management and security services, Engineering/ Procurement/ Construction services etc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Marine Operations Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Main Responsibilities
Vessel Operations:

• To ensure efficient vessel operations by determining the right speed for every voyage that will optimize fuel consumption.
• To monitor vessel operations remotely to ensure that company vessels are operating within the Nigerian maritime environment in line with company’s standard operating procedures and Nigerian Navy regulations.
• To prepare reports for all finished operational tasks for commercial invoicing.
• To oversee the company’s vessels bunkering procedure (Fueling) in line with the approved standard operating procedure.
• To oversee the processes related to vessel crew changes, Nigerian Navy crew changes & Nigerian Navy personnel embarkations.

Class Society and Flag State:

• Ensuring that vessels meet up with the requirement and documentations for Flag state. To monitor and renew all flag regulatory licenses (NIMASA) on time to avoid sanctions.
• Manage the relationship between the Company and Class society- Bureau Veritas, and Flag state – NIMASA, to ensure that all issues with both the Bureau Veritas & NIMASA are proactively managed.
• Lead the operations team for Audits and Surveys
• Ensuring that vessels meet up with the requirement and documentations for classification society (Bureau Veritas) on time to avoid sanctions.

People Management:

• Work with Human Resources in the management of the office operations personnel and the vessel crewmembers.
• Work with Human Resources in recruitment and training of both office personnel and vessel crewmembers.
• Ensuring that qualified personnel in accordance with NIMASA regulatory requirements properly operate all company vessels.

Advisory and Reporting:

• Provide Management with relevant periodic reports, analysis, and budgetary recommendations on the expanse of marine operations as and when due
• Ensure all operational documents (including vessel documents), regulatory licenses and certifications are up to date at all times
• Provide advice to management on opportunities for improvements within Marine operations, as it relates to processes, policies and systems, and best practices wherever operational gaps have been identified
• Any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Managing Director from time to time.

Job Specification

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Minimum experience of 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years at Managerial Capacity. Industry experience is a prerequisite
• Strong People Management and Leadership skills
• Effective Communication Skill (written and spoken English).
• Must be Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft office suite and other related software.
• Must have practical experience in vessel operations and must have served in such a capacity for a Minimum of 5 years.
