Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Lagos
Level: 3
Contract: 12 Month

Job Purpose

  • To design Mechanical installations, prepare workshop and As - built drawings as well as operational and maintenance manuals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In addition to being able to excellent perform the duties of a level 2 Mechanical Engineer;

He/she can carry out the following:

  • Good interface with building contractors and other sub-contractors on site.
  • Report changes, variations and site instructions to the project manager.
  • Carry out short-term planning for procurement and raise procurement requests to the P&L department.
  • Good supervision of site workers to achieve work plan.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports.
  • Attend meetings (technical & coordination) and issue minutes.
  • Prepare shop drawings.
  • Prepare the project works to schedule
  • Good assigning of tasks to site employees
  • Read drawings, set out systems, and interprets drawings to workers.
  • Supervise mechanical installations.
  • Prepare material take-off drawings.

OHS Responsibilities:

  • Drive conformance with health & safety rules within your teams
  • Perform work safely to protect you and others from harm
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including wearing of personal protective equipment, obeying safety signs and safely using work tools
  • Be familiar with the company’s emergency and evacuation procedures and the location of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kit, etc.) in order to be able to take appropriate action in the event of an emergency
  • Participate in the incident investigation (if required)
  • Promote the organization's positive health and safety culture.
  • Not tampering with or misusing safety equipment, devices or any other company property
  • Report any identified defects and potential hazards in the workplace
  • Inform your Supervisor/HSE representative/HSE Officer or QHSE Manager of any observed workplace injury, illness and incidents.

Knowledge Requirement:

  • Working knowledge of micro soft office suite.
  • Good working knowledge of plumbing and fire systems standards & codes.
  • Good working knowledge of plumbing and fire system installation principles.
  • Good knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Engineering drawing and measurements.

Gross Salary
N300,000 monthly.
