Medical Officer at Jigawa State Ministry of Health

The State Ministry of Health is responsible for advising government on policy formulation, regulation and implementation of health and health related issues in the State. The ministry maintained its oversight functions, which include policy formulation and regulation, resource mobilization, human resource development, social protection of the disadvantaged and external relations. It supervises the delivery of secondary and tertiary health care services. The Honourable Commissioner for Health heads the ministry supported by Permanent Secretary, and a team of Directors responsible for major departments (Administration & Finance, Planning Research & Statistics, Hospital Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Medical Services, Nursing Services and Public Health Services).

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must hold an MBBS degree from an NMDC-accredited medical school
• Must provide evidence of a valid and current practicing licence issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria
• Must have completed NYSC or present a valid certificate of exemption
• Applications are open to all Nigerian citizens, from any state of the federation.
