We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Digital Content, Writer and Reporter Location: Nationwide Job Descriptions We are looking for an English speaking awesome content writer to write contents and news posts for our online content and News platform. JistArena station in Lagos, Nigeria, aspire to be one of the most trusted online local contents and news brands in the country, is seeking a Digital Content, Writer and Reporter who has a passion for finding great content and distributing it to all platforms in a large, fast paced and diverse market. Responsibilities

• Participate in news editorial meetings and find creative ways to develop original digital content opportunities
• Reporting breaking news, generating web traffic, posting to social media, and creating video using creative means.
• Write, Develop, Edit, Publish and Update content for JistArena and social platforms
• Shoot and edit original or repurposed video for the platforms
• Research, create and repurpose content including text, images, video and social media

• This is a multi-skilled position. You must be able to shoot, edit, write, produce and turn daily pieces. You must be creative and offer a willingness to “push the envelope.”
• You should be familiar with WordPress and basic Blog Post Optimization, such as writing to optimize a specific keyword, meaning the keyword density must be in 2% of the content, adding photos, title tags, meta description, Heading tags (H1, H2, H3) and posting live.
• The key is that you are a great writer and understand writing content that will attract links and is engaging, and as such will always go viral in Nigeria and even beyond.
• You must be trustworthy as we will want you to post directly to our site.
• If you wrote a media blog post that went viral, that will win you the gig! You should be able to research and write a great 1000 word blog post. This will be a long term position with a lot of work guaranteed to the chosen candidate. Please respond with your best example work, or URL links.
• You must be very skillful and vast at digital content technologies with reasonable years of experience.
• You need superior news judgment and the ability to write, socialize, push and communicate news in grammatically-solid, journalistically-sound, ethical and non-biased ways.
• You need the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work a flexible schedule.
• The person we hire will want to win every day. You must be a creative thinker who thrives on interacting with our audience and working in a team atmosphere.
• You must be a self-starter who we can count on-to show up on time, be motivated and ready to roll with content ideas.
• You must be highly creative and have editing, writing, and content creation experience.

• Must have experience working as a digital producer or reporter, number of years is not relevant
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be at between 23 - 27 years of age at the time of application
• Journalism or digital producing experience is preferred
• Must be available for weekend work
• We are looking for writers with a resume of previous work done (Digital Advertising, Web Development, Social Media Marketing Content is a plus).
• Ability to prioritize and manage requests from various sources with an ability to work well with varied personalities within deadlines
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
• Experience using DSLR or other photography / videography equipment
• Ability to work independently or multi-task confidently under tight deadlines
