We are recruiting to to fill the position below:       Job Title: Medical Doctor Location: Damboa, Borno Slot: 2 Openings Job Descriptions

  • Under the supervision of the team leader, the Mobile Clinic Medical Doctor will be responsible for the following main activities in order to ensure the quality of care in the mobile clinics:
  • Provision of free of charge curative health consultations
  • Admission, weekly medical follow-up and discharge of the malnourished children in OTP program
  • Collection, computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data
  • Reporting and attendance to different meetings
Tasks Descriptions
  • Provision of free of charge curative health consultations:
    • Prepare all the necessary drugs, material and equipment for mobile clinics and ensure that everything is ready before to leave MdM office
    • Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene when performing curative health consultations
    • Participate actively in triage activities before to start curative health consultations
  • Perform curative consultations:
    • Take a proper medical history including:
    • Reason for consultation
  • Duration of the illness or complaints
  • Main symptoms
  • Past medical history and treatment.
  • Perform a correct physical examination:
    • Inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation
    • Systematic checking of signs of severity
  • Diagnose and treat the diseases according to protocols in use (i.e. clinical guidelines)
  • Write the most important complaints, signs, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment on the patient’s registration form.
  • Explain the treatment to the patient
  • Give individual health education related to the patient’s disease:
    • Manage emergency cases according to MdM protocols and regulation
    • Fill in the registration form for each patient, according to the diagnosis of the morbidity surveillance form
    • Check the immunization status for all EPI targeted children and referred the unvaccinated children to the vaccinator
    • Investigate any information regarding unusual health events or diseases outbreak, provided through any source
    • Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and treat all the patients with respect and dignity
  • Admission, weekly medical follow-up and discharge of the malnourished children in OTP program:
    • Ensure that all the 6-59 months children have been screened (MUAC, H/W and edemas)
    • Admit new cases in OTP program according to the criteria of national nutrition protocol and give systematic treatment for SAM cases
    • Ensure weekly follow up of SAM cases and adapt RUTF doses
    • Discharge cases according to the criteria of national nutrition protocol
    • Refer complicated SAM cases to identified Stabilization Center
    • Fill in the specific OTP form
  • Collection, computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data:
    • Perform the daily data collection regarding curative consultations
    • Participate to the weekly computerization and analysis of the medical data
  • Reporting and attendance to different meetings:
    • Prepare a weekly activity report to submit to team leader
    • Participate in a pro-active way to MdM internal meetings (medical, security…)
    • Participate to all the trainings organized by MDM
Others:
  • Give suggestions to improve the functioning of MDM mobile clinics
  • Participate to the loading and unloading of the vehicles and to the setting up of the mobile clinics
  • Participate to weekly physical inventory of mobile clinic pharmacy

  • Essential Bachelor’s University Degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited university.
  • Two years of relevant professional work experience, including in a developing country, in public health and nutrition.

      Job Title: MHPSS Counsellor Location: Damboa, Borno Main Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Supervisor the MHPSS counsellor provides psychosocial and/or psychological interventions in an individual or group format.
  • The MHPSS Counsellor will liaise with the mental health team (MHPSS Supervisor and MHPSS Counsellors) on the implementation of MHPSS interventions and activities, more specifically
Responsibilities and Tasks Description
  • Deliver one-on-one (Individual) and group counselling sessions to identified clients within MdM Clinics, and in line with MdM integrated approach
  • Develop psychosocial activities; community mobilization, awareness raising, and any other related activity requested by MHPSS Supervisor.
  • Support MHPSS Supervisor in delivering training or workshops
  • Support in the creation of materials including publicity documents.
  • Engage with the community to deliver and promote MDM MHPSS project activities in the designated locations.
  • Assist in writing monthly, quarterly, annual reports, monitoring and evaluation activity and progress reports of project activities including monthly reporting to the MHPSS Supervisor.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventive MHPSS interventions at the community and PHC level.
  • Coordinate referrals
Tasks Description Provide MHPSS consultations within PHC setting:
  • Provide individual or group consultations to beneficiaries presenting in PHC or referred and in need of MH interventions
  • Assist in the identification of psycho-social needs and proposition needed interventions in collaboration with the mental health team and PHC staff
  • Weekly reporting activities and data collection
  • Coordinate with MHPSS supervisor on cases requiring higher level interventions
  • Provide psycho-social support for mental health beneficiaries:
  • Work directly with MHPSS Supervisor to develop individualized treatment plans for MH beneficiaries
  • In coordination with community mobilizers use participatory methods to adapt activities in accordance to the needs of the different target groups (children, women etc)
Community mental health interventions:
  • Participate in defining effective and culturally appropriate approaches and interventions on the community level
  • Focus on information dissemination and collecting opinions to foster knowledge and self-care practices for communities in areas of intervention
  • Initiate and facilitate group interventions
  • Analysis, detection and reduction of risk factors influencing the mental health status at community level:
  • In collaboration with the mental health team, explore and detect potential risk factors influencing mental health status of the target population
  • Coordinate with other actors concerned to reduce and/or eliminate potential risk factors.
Others:
  • Any other related MDM tasks as assigned by the MHPSS Supervisor or MHPSS Coordinator
  • Under the guidance of MHPSS Supervisor and MHPSS Coordinator support in the collection of information related to behaviors of the community to reinforce quality of MHPSS services
  • Collaborate and participate, in any field survey, data collection and/or needs assessment organized by MDM in relation to MHPSS

  • Degree or HND in Psychology, Counselling, Social Works, Psychiatric Nursing, or related field from a recognized institution
  • At least 1 - 2 years of professional experiences in relevant field (clinical psychology, educational psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or other related field)
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience working in humanitarian sector is an asset – specifically in MHPSS programs

      Job Title: Logistics Officer Location: Damboa, Borno Starting Date: ASAP Job Description
  • The Damboa Logistics Officer works under the Supervision of the Base Log/Admin.
  • He/She supports The Base Log Admin for all support needed in the base (office and guest house) function including:
    • Fleet management
    • Log Assistant, Drivers and Guard supervision,
    • Energy Management
    • Equipment and stocks management,
    • Procurement
    • Project team support,
    • Field activity visit,
    • Monthly Logistic Reporting
    • Log Team management.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervising the logistic support Services in collaboration with the Base Log/Admin.
  • Ensure the efficient management of resources (fleet, Assets, utilities)
  • Ensure the good weekly vehicle planning
  • In collaboration with the drivers and car, hire vehicle to ensure on-time repair & maintenance of the fleet vehicle.
  • When vehicle moving for the maintenance and repair, he must remove the MDM visibility and put it back when the vehicles back at the office
  • Ensure on time repair & maintenance of Generator
  • Monitor the usage of fuel for vehicles and generator
  • Monitor local procurement of goods and services for the Base according to the MdM Procurement procedures
  • Assess the vehicle needs for a base in relation with project & office activities
  • Ensure the rehabilitation of premises, clinic & regular check.
  • Ensure the participation of logistics in the selection of premises for projects & offices

  • In collaboration with the Base Log/Admin, conduct the logistics assessments in the field whenever required, and provide the support to the team in the field.
Equipment and stock Management:
  • In collaboration with the Base Log Admin anticipation for the need for equipment for the base
  • Ensure the good usage and maintenance of MDM equipment, (cleaning, security, protection; maintenance) … each extra equipment must be insecure metallic locked metallic shelve locked, inventory doc must be stick inside the door of the shelves.
  • Ensure the tracking of equipment (Physical inventories at least once each 3 months, ensure that all equipment is labelled, if not he must refer it to the log base.
  • Update on monthly basis the asset equipment list;
  • Ensure that each staff when he received an equipment as a sign the reception of equipment and keep it update. (when staff give back is equipment at the end of his contract make sure after checking the equipment state the staff sign the return of equipment form;
  • Ensure that each equipment has an ID Number if not must refer to his supervisor,
  • In case of any breakdown of any equipment, ensure that the following document is submitted at the Base Log/Admin
  • Report of the breakdown with complete incident report i.e. reason for breakdown.
  • With the support of the Base Log.Admin, make sure proper utilization of IT equipment (each staff need to clean his laptop, not put it under water, shadow, dusty) etc.
  • Be sure that each staff has cleaning materiel his computer (small brush, tissue, computer spray)
  • Ensure that the guard follow up the procedure of all Handset VHF is on charge every day after duty, and follow the procedure of before putting on a charge, empty fully the battery then start the recharge,
Base Meeting and Report:
  • Participate meetings with logistics base staff or take meeting minutes for staff base meetings as required, in close collaboration with the log base
  • Participate in logistics meetings and programs for the movement planning once a week,
  • Participate with the Base Log/Admin at the monthly SITREP, each mast week of the month
  • Participate with the Base Log/Admin at the Logistic monthly report each end of the month (vehicle and generator fuel and maintenance follow up, Asset equipment inventory, none asset inventory, purchase follow up) etc.
  • Field visit report should be done in case of any clinic visit, and send it to the base Log/Admin.
Team Management:
  • In collaboration with the log base, adaptation of team according to the workload (including daily labour & temporary recruitments)
  • Provide technical support to the team on logistics’ issues
  • Participate in the recruitment with the Base Log/Admin
  • Conduct the appraisal interview for Log Assistant, drivers and guards
  • Participate in disciplinary actions
  • In collaboration with the Base Log/Admin, identify the training needs conduct/ arrange the training for them.
  • Ensure HR rules/guidelines are followed in the management of the log team.
Security and Context Follow Up:
  • Inform the Base Log/Admin on any evolution of the local context;
  • Report to the Base Log/Admin in case of any security incident.
  • Implementation of emergency measures, if required, under the supervision of the Base Log/Admin base.

Realization of paramedics acts including vaccination:
  • Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene when performing paramedics acts
  • Realize malaria rapid diagnostic tests according to necessity and/or prescription
  • Urine dipstick tests to the patients according to necessity and/or prescription
  • Haemoglobin test according to prescription
  • Make dressings according to MdM protocols

      Job Title: Data Officer Location: Damboa, Borno Main Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Supervisor, the Data Officer will be responsible for the following main activities in accordance to national and MdM procedures:

Detailed Activities:
  • Data management on the corresponding forms and tools
  • Receiving the data from the project team or if not, collect it
  • Enter medical data in the mission database appropriately and on a regular basis (from mobile teams and supported health facilities)
  • Update and maintenance of database (data, formulas, graphs…)
  • Report and alert to the line manager of any problem arising with data provided or database.
Data Report Design:
  • Update the standard monitoring tool designed on Excel
  • Create and generate relevant graphs to show the data developments/movements
  • Finalising development of database in collaboration with coordination team if needed
  • Contributing to design various studies (surveys, new forms…).
Field Monitoring Supervision:
  • Supportive supervisions of mobile clinics team to support and improve field data collection

Profile Academic Background:
  • B.A/S or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Social Sciences, International Development or other relevant field.
Professional Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the non-profit sector in Information and Data Management or Monitoring & Evaluation.
Excellent Excel Skills:

  • Ability to think independently and identify data discrepancies
  • Experience designing and implementing electronic data collection methods

      Job Title: Midwife Location: Damboa, Borno Slot: 2 Openings Job Descriptions Under the supervision of the Sexual Reproductive Health Supervisor, the Midwife will be responsible for the following main activities in order to ensure the quality of care in the mobile clinics:
  • Provision of free of charge reproductive health consultations
  • Implementation of health education sessions
  • Collection, computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data
  • Reporting and attendance to different meetings
