Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with a minimum of four (4) years of proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality materials, managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in line with the company's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet production strategies to meet production and operational requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with reliable suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Production, Finance, Logistics) to align procurement plans with operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all procurement activities.
• Manage supplier performance through periodic evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies and standards.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts and purchase documentation.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and product developments to optimize purchasing decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years' hands-on procurement experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong negotiation, communication and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

• Membership or certification with a professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CIPSMN) will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation and processes is a plus.
