We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Production Lead

Location: Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of production workers, assign tasks, and provide guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and achievement of production targets.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to develop production plans, set production targets, and establish timelines for completion of tasks.
  • Monitor production processes and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement corrective actions when deviations occur to maintain product quality.
  • Enforce safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Identify the training needs of team members and provide necessary on-the-job training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a learning environment and promote continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure regular maintenance and repair of production equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly.
  • Collaborate with the inventory control team to manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.
  • Implement approved changes and measure their impact on production.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Prepare regular production reports and share updates on production progress and challenges.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Monitor individual and team performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide regular feedback and coaching to enhance productivity and quality.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Agriculture with at least 5 years experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the chicken production or food processing industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of chicken production processes, including butchery, portioning, packaging, and quality control.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial production environment.
