Job Title: Production Materials Control (PMC) Officer

Location: Ibeju, Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Production Materials Control (PMC) Officer is responsible for coordinating production planning and ensuring timely availability of raw and packaging materials for uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• The role supports effective inventory management, production scheduling, and communication between production, procurement, and warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update daily/weekly production schedules in alignment with stock levels.
• Ensure adequate supply and timely issuance of raw and packaging materials to the production floor.
• Prepare and maintain Material Requirement Plans (MRP) for all production SKUs.
• Monitor and document material consumption, returns, and wastage, ensuring accurate reconciliation with warehouse records.
• Track batch production progress and communicate deviations or delays to management promptly.
• Participate in cycle counts and weekly & monthly stock audits with the warehouse and finance teams.
• Liaise with maintenance and production supervisors to ensure the readiness of machines and materials for scheduled runs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, downtime, and lead time.
• Supervise and coordinate the production activities and warehouse support staff to ensure timely material flow and adherence to production schedules.
• Ensure space management, including cleanliness and arrangement of the production floor
• Assist in planning and implementing product changeovers to minimize downtime and prevent material mix-up.
• Maintain accurate production and material usage reports, submitting daily and weekly summaries to the Plant Manager.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure materials meet quality and hygiene standards before production use.
• Monitor inventory turnover rates and recommend optimal reorder points for high-use materials.
• Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and cost control measures to enhance material efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Age bracket, preferably between 25 and 30 years old.
• Must reside within the Ibeju-Lekki or Lekki Free TradeZone environment.
• 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in production planning, materials control, or inventory management (preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG setting).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and numerical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
