Project Administrator / Senior Research Officer at National Institute for Health Research

The Nigeria hub is a research center amidst many collaborators and the hub is led by Prof Adesoji Ademuyiwa, a Professor in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine University of Lagos, and Head of Paediatric Surgery Unit, Lagos University Teaching Hospital. The Globalsurg collaborative is between the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Global Surgery Unit based at the University of Birmingham, UK and the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Administrator / Senior Research Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description:

• Manage and oversee various research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
• Coordinate research activities, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings for publication.
• Collaborate closely with the Hub Director, providing support and assistance as needed.
• Represent the Hub Director at meetings and fulfill assignments as a personal assistant when required.
• Facilitate research governance procedures, including project conceptualization, monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement.
• Supervise diverse aspects of Hub operations, including clinical research, budgeting, administration, and data curation analysis.
• Strengthen grant acquisition capabilities by drafting proposals and seeking international funding opportunities.

Qualification

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), or equivalent medical Degree.
• Master's degree in Public Health (MPH).
• Additional qualifications such as a Fellowship or PhD will be advantageous.
• Proven experience in project management, preferably in a research setting.
• Demonstrated capacity to write scholarly papers, evidenced by publications in a journal.
