Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Location: Akinyele, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The Quality Control Officer ensures that all poultry products and processes at natnudO Foods Abbatior , Kaduna, comply with established food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • The role is responsible for monitoring production, conducting tests, enforcing compliance with SOPs, and maintaining product integrity from chicken production through to finished goods.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international food safety regulations (NAFDAC, SON, HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP).
  • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all production stages.
  • Conduct routine inspections of production lines, cold rooms, and packaging units to ensure compliance with hygiene and quality standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, inspection logs, and deviation reports.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management review.
  • Track and report non-conformances, recommending improvements where necessary.

Process Improvement & Training:

  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve quality processes.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in quality systems.
  • Train staff on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene standards, and food safety awareness.

Testing & Monitoring:

  • Perform microbial and chemical tests on raw materials, water, and finished chicken products.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and document corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Verify that products meet weight, temperature, and packaging requirements.

Customer & Regulatory Audits:

  • Assist in preparing for external audits (regulatory bodies, customers, and certifications).
  • Provide necessary documentation and act as a liaison during inspections.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Compliance rate with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Staff adherence to GMP and hygiene practices.
  • Number of non-conformance cases reported and resolved.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of quality reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc / HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and regulatory compliance in food production.
  • Familiarity with microbial testing, laboratory procedures, and food safety monitoring tools.
  • 4–6years’ experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in a food processing, poultry, or FMCG environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a cold-room environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality management systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot deviations quickly.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.
