Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Fintech)

Job Summary

  • The Regional Manager will be responsible for overseeing OPay’s business operations across the South South region, with Port Harcourt as the base location.
  • This role requires strong leadership capability to manage and coordinate a large workforce of over 500 employees, drive business growth, ensure operational excellence, and strengthen OPay’s presence in the fintech ecosystem.
  • The ideal candidate must have proven experience in fintech, payments, or financial services and demonstrate the ability to lead large, multi-functional teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all regional operations within the South South region.
  • Manage, mentor, and coordinate a workforce of 500+ staff, including sales, operations, and support teams.
  • Drive regional business growth by executing OPay’s sales, distribution, and market expansion strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Head Office and cross-functional teams to align regional execution with corporate goals.
  • Identify market opportunities, assess risks, and implement strategies to strengthen OPay’s competitive position.
  • Ensure high standards of customer experience, service delivery, and brand representation across the region.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior management.
  • Ensure effective agent and merchant acquisition, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Monitor regional performance metrics, set targets, and ensure consistent achievement of KPIs.
  • Oversee operational compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services, with at least 4–5 years in a senior management or regional leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Proven experience managing large teams of 500+ employees across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of fintech operations, digital payments, agency banking, and merchant networks.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the South South region.
